kaya loaf

Yet again, the kaya that FIL bought from Chin Mee Chin cake shop at East Coast Road came in hand.

This time, I used the kaya to bake a loaf of bread.

As commercially sold kaya tends to be a little on the sweet side, I did not add any sugar when preparing the bread dough.

METHOD

4 tbsp butter (softened)
3/4 tsp salt
1/4 cup kaya
3/4 cup low fat milk
1 egg (lightly beaten)
3 cups bread flour
1 1/2 tsp instant dry yeast

METHOD

1. Place all the ingredients (except the bread flour and the yeast) in the bucket of the breadmaker machine.

2. Add the bread flour, making sure that the wet ingredients are totally covered.

3. Add the yeast.

4. Place the bucket in the breadmaker machine and set to regular bread cycle.

5. When the cycle has been completed, remove the bread from the bucket and let the bread cool thoroughly on a wire rack.
